Introducing: Osteopathy

Next up in our extensive list of services here at Balance 360, we’re going to be talking about Osteopathy today!

Did you know that Balance 360 was built off the successful Osteopathic service that Jolene (our clinic owner) had previously provided? As a result, Osteopathy at Balance 360 is well-known and already loved, and only made stronger by the addition of Rebecca to the clinic!

Today we are going to be sharing everything you need to know about this service, so you can come to your upcoming appointment more educated about what will happen.

What is Osteopathy?

The aim of this treatment is to help increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood supply to tissues and help the body to heal. Utilising physical manipulation of the body, it is a way of detecting, treating and preventing a number of health problems.

What does it treat?

People seek Osteopathic treatment to help with conditions that affect the muscles, bones and joints. For many people, although aches and pains may seem to be a common part of growing older, it doesn’t have to be.

Whether it is generalised aches and pains, arthritic pain, joint pains, muscle spasms or even digestion problems, there are a wide variety of conditions that Osteopaths can treat. Additionally, based on evidence we can also treat sciatica, neuralgia, fibromyalgia, and rheumatic pain. Even if you are unsure on what is wrong, we can diagnose, explain, treat (using a range of evidence based treatments) and advise patients all on the first visit!

It’s also worthwhile to note that we can treat any age group! That includes infants and children, all the way through to mature adults.

What does treatment consist of?

As previously prefaced, Osteopathy involves a series of techniques, including physical manipulation, stretching and massage. All patients can benefit from the tailored and personalised approach that Osteopaths offer, taking the time to understand individual history and circumstances, and applying the correct treatment to solve the issue.
