Adding to her already extensive list of relaxing, rejuvenating treatments, Imogen is now trained in Hand Reflexology and Hot Stone Reflexology.
Today we will be introducing these brand new services in depth, including what you can expect from each treatment and the benefits you’ll receive. So if you would like to learn more about the new services before booking an appointment, then read on!
Hand Reflexology
What is it?
This treatment focuses on applying pressure to reflex points within the hands. The points are believed to be connected to other parts throughout the body, so as massaging occurs, it encourages whole body health and wellbeing.
What does it treat?
Hand reflexology can help relieve aches and pains throughout the body, as well as relieving stress and promoting deep relaxation - strengthening the connection between mind and body.
It relieves lactic acid build up and promotes healing - great news for those who enjoy working out to help speed up recovery time!
Hand or foot reflexology: which is better?
Hand Reflexology is just as effective as feet and more accessible - great for those that are not keen on their feet being touched! This treatment targets the reflex points in your hands which run deeper than the ones in your feet, triggering the body’s natural healing process.
If you’re feeling out of kilter, struggling to keep up with the demands of life, then this is the therapy for you.
Hot Stone Reflexology
What is it?
Hot Stone Reflexology utilises hot stones on different points of the feet, combining the benefits of an intensive Reflexology treatment and the relaxation of the stones.
What does it treat?
Hot stones have been shown to lower cortisol levels and help to support the parasympathetic nervous system, helping the body to reverse the stress reaction. Here are some of the additional benefits to Hot Stone Reflexology:
Improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage
Promotes the release and elimination of toxins
Relieves tension in connective tissues
Boosts immunity and the lymphatic function
Reduces muscular tension
Altogether, it is a warming, deeply relaxing and soothing treatment, helping to melt away any tension or anxiety.
What does treatment consist of?
Instead of using fingers on the pressure points, hot stones are used. The heat from the stones penetrates to a much deeper level than fingers, and is also believed to yield five times deeper and five times longer lasting effects compared to a regular Reflexology session.
