Everything You Need to Know About Sports & Deep Tissue Massage at Balance 360

Would you like to know more about our extensive Sports & Deep Tissue Massage service?

You may have seen we’ve had a few new changes to our team at Balance 360, which means exciting developments to our existing Sports Massage service. We’re now going to be operating an extensive muscle massage therapy service, catered to all types of massage needs.

If you want to learn more about what our Sports & Deep Tissue Massage service entails, we’re going to be answering a lot of your questions below. Whether you’re an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or just someone dealing with deep tissue aches and pains - you’re in the right place to get Back in Balance.

What is a Sports & Deep Tissue Massage?

This massage therapy is designed to help athletes and fitness enthusiasts prevent injuries, enhance performance, and recover from physical activity.

You may have seen this service advertised as a number of different things - deep tissue massage, soft tissue therapy, physio massage. However, these all encompass a similar service designed to relieve you from muscular aches and pains.

As the name would suggest, it is typically associated with athletes and sportspeople, but it’s not limited to them. If you’re regularly engaging in physical activity, or have a physically demanding job, or are simply experiencing aches and pains - this service is also for you.

What does it entail?

It involves deep tissue techniques, and specific stretches that have been tailored to your body’s needs. For example, that could be if you're preparing for competition or recovering from a tough workout.

It’s important to note that this deep tissue massage can involve more pressure than a regular, relaxing massage, which can cause some discomfort or mild pain. Make sure you communicate with your massage therapist throughout the session if it becomes too much.

Why book in?

As well as relieving muscle tension, aches and pains, the benefits also include:

  • Improved flexibility and range of motion

  • Increased blood circulation

  • Faster recovery

  • Injury prevention

  • Reduced muscle soreness

If you’re training for an event, consider booking in as part of your training plan, to maintain flexibility and prepare the muscles for intensive activity to come. Similarly, after the event you can book in to help recover and repair the muscles.

To highlight once again, even if you’re not an athlete, sports massage can be beneficial for you. If you experience muscle tension from physical activity, stress, or poor posture - it’s effective for treating chronic muscle pain and maintaining overall muscle health.
